El jefe de Gobierno porteño y el ministro de Salud brindaron una conferencia de prensa acerca del trabajo que realiza la Ciudad de Buenos Aires , en la que explicaron los protocolos que hay disponibles ante un eventual caso y además dieron consejos a la población para reducir el riesgo de contagio.

“Por más que ya sabemos que hasta este momento ni en la Ciudad de Buenos ni en la Argentina tenemos casos confirmados, dado que es un fenómeno que se está expandiendo a nivel mundial y que hay 45 países en los que hay casos, lo que tenemos que hacer es adelantarnos, tenemos que prevenir”, sostuvo Rodríguez Larreta.

En ese sentido, dijo que “estamos tomando todos los recaudos necesarios, desde la Ciudad de Buenos Aires y en coordinación con el Gobierno nacional, por un lado para prevenir el ingreso del virus y por otro para restringir o limitar su propagación y para tener a todo el sistema de salud preparado ante la eventualidad de que surgiera un caso”.

“Lo primero que queremos hacer es llevar tranquilidad a todos los porteños, decirles que estamos preparados y que estamos tomando todos los recaudos necesarios”, aseguró. Por otra parte, recordó que “hoy todos los porteños tienen un centro de salud a no más de 15 minutos de su casa” y pidió que “ante el mínimo síntoma o duda se acerquen” a hacer una consulta.

Rodríguez Larreta además destacó que “es muy importante compartir la información” y que “la mejor manera de prevenir es tener a toda nuestra población informada”. “También le pedimos a la gente que difunda, a través de sus contactos de redes sociales, amigos y familiares, todas las prevenciones y precauciones que hay que tomar a nivel individual”, agregó.

En tanto, el ministro Quirós explicó que la Ciudad desarrolló “un protocolo que tiene como objetivo principal la detección precoz y segura de los casos sospechosos”.

El funcionario porteño definió que un caso sospechoso es “tener síntomas compatibles (fiebre acompañada de síntomas respiratorios) pero al mismo tiempo que la persona haya estado presente en algún país donde hay circulación viral”.

“Hay muchos países en el mundo que han tenido casos, pero son cinco los que al día de hoy tienen circulación viral demostrada: China, Japón, Corea del Sur, Irán y algunas regiones del norte de Italia”, señaló.

Acerca del protocolo, dijo que la detección de un caso tiene que ser precoz “porque tenemos que aislarlo lo más rápidamente posible para que no se distribuya en otros casos, y segura porque necesitamos proteger a los vínculos de esa persona, por un lado, y también proteger al equipo de salud que es quien tiene que manejar estas situaciones en caso de que aparezcan”.

“Además desarrollamos un protocolo de manejo clínico, que tiene que ver con cómo hacemos el diagnóstico, cómo aislamos de manera segura a los potenciales casos. En eso el Hospital Muñiz es nuestro hospital de referencia, que está extremadamente preparado con un nivel de capacitación enorme, y ha dedicado una sala de aislamiento para el manejo clínico de los potenciales casos, si los tuviéramos”, comentó el ministro de Salud.

Quirós aclaró que “ambos protocolos están en permanente comunicación y coordinación con el Ministerio de Salud de la Nación, con el que tenemos una tarea cotidiana de trabajo conjunto, y hemos llamado al Comité de Expertos del Ministerio de Salud de la Ciudad para que pueda aportarnos su mirada”.

En cuanto a los mecanismos de contagio dijo que son “los mismos que tiene la mayoría de las infecciones virales”, y explicó: “Son las gotitas de saliva que con un estornudo o tos las personas con la enfermedad emiten a su entorno, a no más de 1 o 2 metros de donde están. Esas gotitas, si caen en una persona sana, la pueden infectar”.

“La recomendación más importante es que cuando uno necesita toser o estornudar, siempre lo haga sobre el pliegue del codo y tratar de no usar las manos para esa maniobra”, afirmó.

Asimismo, pidió que “todas las personas que tengan síntomas de enfermedad de vía aérea superior o gripal, que tomen la precaución de quedarse en su casa, de no ir a trabajar y no ir a lugares de conglomerados grandes porque eso facilita la comunicación de las enfermedades”.

El segundo mecanismo de contagio es el “contacto”, comentó el ministro. “Las personas tosen y la saliva cae en algún lugar, sobre todo mesas, pantallas de celulares, computadoras, diferentes lugares de contacto frecuente. El virus queda ahí y cuando una persona sana pasa y toca esos lugares se lleva los virus en la mano y luego la forma de terminar el contagio es cuando con la mano se toca la cara”, dijo.

Ante esta situación, recomendó “que todos tomemos la precaución de limpiar frecuentemente las superficies de contacto, picaportes, celulares, computadoras, mesas, mesadas, limpiarlos con más intensidad”.

“Y la segunda maniobra es lavarse frecuentemente las manos con agua y jabón o con alcohol en gel y, además, acostumbrarse a no llevarse las manos y sobre todo la palma de la mano a la boca, nariz, ni ojos”, concluyó.

Por último, el ministro porteño recordó que “por cualquier duda tenemos todo el sistema de salud preparado para atender y siempre el 147 por cualquier consulta que necesiten”.
