La iniciativa del ministerio de Educación porteño se realizará del 20 de febrero al 3 de marzo y será de asistencia obligatoria. “Busca fortalecer la equidad del sistema educativo y reforzar los contenidos de materias nodales como Lengua y Matemática”, explicó el Gobierno porteño en un comunicado.
En los últimos años, la extensión del calendario escolar fue resistida desde el sector turístico. En 2016 las clases empezaron el 29 de febrero, al igual que en 2012 y 2013, mientras que en 2014 y 2015, la fecha definida por los ministros de Educación de todo el país tuvo que postergarse de febrero a marzo por el rechazo de los empresarios hoteleros y gastronómicos.
“Según estudios de Unesco, nuestro país posee uno de los calendarios escolares más cortos del mundo. A nivel regional, en lo que refiere a tiempo de exposición de los niños a contenidos áulicos, la Argentina ocupa el último lugar entre los países medidos: Chile, Jamaica, México, Paraguay, Perú y Uruguay“, sostenía el proyecto aprobado en septiembre en Diputados, con apoyo unánime de las fuerzas políticas.

Para desarrollar el curso, cada escuela designará a los docentes que estarán a cargo y las clases de articulación tendrán lugar en la misma institución en la que los alumnos realizarán la secundaria.
Durante los 10 días de extensión, los estudiantes trabajarán con el apoyo de un cuadernillo por área, elaborados por especialistas y con actividades que relacionan los contenidos de las asignaturas con situaciones de la vida cotidiana.
