Por ello, solicitan a los vecinos registrar sus huellas dactilares, por la conferencia de la OMC en Buenos Aires, que se realizará entre el 10 y el 13 de diciembre.
La Undécima Conferencia Ministerial de la Organización Mundial del Comercio (OMC) se hará entre el 10 al 13 de diciembre en el Barrio de Puerto Madero, en nuestra Comuna 1. Durante esta semana los vecinos y trabajadores del Barrio fueron notificados de que deberán registrar sus huellas dactilares para poder circular por estas calles durante el evento.
Además de llevar los documentos personales, los vecinos tendrán que presentar la cédula verde de los vehículos que quieran ingresar a la zona.
La Ciudad de Buenos Aires se convertirá así en la primera ciudad sudamericana donde se celebre este acontecimiento.
En la Legislatura de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires el legislador Octavio Calderón (PRO en Vamos Juntos) presentó un proyecto para que el Poder Legislativo local exprese su beneplácito por el desarrollo de la conferencia.
La Organización Mundial del Comercio nace como organización internacional en 1995. Actualmente tiene su sede en Ginebra, Suiza. Se encuentra conformada por 164 miembros, que representan el 98% del comercio mundial y sus idiomas oficiales son el inglés, francés y español, fundamenta Calderón.
Es la única organización internacional que se ocupa de las normas que rigen el comercio entre los países. Se fundó y funciona en torno a los “Acuerdos de la OMC”. Los mismos fueron negociados y firmados por la mayoría de los países que participan en el comercio mundial y ratificados por sus respectivos Parlamentos. El objetivo es garantizar intercambios comerciales más libres y fluidos.
Los distintos acuerdos que la rigen pueden resumirse en la regulación del comercio de mercancías, de servicios y de propiedad intelectual. Los mismos articulan la liberalización comercial especificando las excepciones permitidas. Además incluyen compromisos de países miembros a reducciones arancelarias aduaneras. Establecen las ventajas en los acuerdos para países en desarrollo. Exigen una constante comunicación con los gobiernos de los países miembros para controlar su transparencia y el cumplimiento de los acuerdos comerciales contraídos, agrega el legislador.
La Conferencia Ministerial que se celebra cada dos años, es el órgano decisorio supremo de la organización, por debajo de este órgano se encuentran el Consejo General y otros consejos y comités.
