Los legisladores expresaron preocupación por la desapaición de Santiago Maldonado y repudiaron el atentado terrorista en Barcelona, entre otros temas.
Huéspedes de honor y Personalidad destacada
– Mikhail Baryshnikov, bailarín, coreógrafo y actor también fue distinguido por iniciativa del legislador Emilio Raposo Varela (PRO). Visitará la ciudad entre el 7 y el 10 de septiembre para realizar una presentación en el teatro Coliseo. El artista lituano en 1966 recibió la medalla de Oro al mejor bailarín del Kirov Ballet en Leningrado y en 1974 emigró a los Estados Unidos para convertirse en el primer bailarín del American Ballet Theatre, entre otros puntos destacados de su carrera.
– El Juez del Tribunal Internacional del Derecho del Mar, Rüdiger Wolfrum, quien visitará la ciudad para dar una serie de conferencias, como la que se realiza hoy en la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), fue homenajeado como Huésped de Honor por impulso del diputado Francisco Quintana (PRO). El jurista alemán ha escrito numerosos libros y artículos acerca de diversos asuntos de Derecho Internacional Público, Derecho de Mar, Derecho Internacional Medioambiental, Derechos Humanos, de las Naciones Unidas y de Asuntos Antárticos, además de haber presidido diversos tribunales.
– También fue declarado Huésped de Honor el escritor, periodista y diplomático chileno Jorge Edwards, quien se encuentra de visita en nuestra Ciudad. Recibió en 1994 el Premio Nacional de Literatura y en 1999 el Premio de Literatura en Lengua Castellana Miguel de Cervantes. La propuesta aprobada sobre tablas fue de Carolina Estebarena, Eduardo Santamarina y Paula Villalba (PRO).
– Los juristas que visitarán la ciudad por la realización del quinto Congreso Internacional de Abogacía Pública, Local y Federal, entre el miércoles 6 y el viernes 8 de septiembre fueron declarados Huéspedes de Honor. Ellos son Luciano José Parejo Alfonso, José Luis Piñar Mañas, Jaime Rodríguez Arana Muñoz, Jackeline Morand Deviller, Carlos Enrique Delpiazzo, Johann-Christian Pielow, Rafael Valim, Augusto Durán Martínez, Eduardo Cordero Quinzacara, Grenfieth De Jesús Sierra Cadena, Libardo Rodríguez Rodríguez y William Barrera Muñoz. Iniciativa del diputado Diego Marías (PRO).
– Fue distinguido como Personalidad Destacada de la cultura y por iniciativa del diputado Carlos Tomada (FpV) el artista plástico nacido en Santa Cruz, Carlos Cedrón. Se ha involucrado en diversas actividades culturales, como ilustrador de medios gráficos, autor y editor de libros, y asesor cultural en el ámbito público y privado.
Preocupación por desaparición de Maldonado
“La Legislatura de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires expresa su preocupación tras la desaparición de Santiago Maldonado, el día 1 de agosto de 2017 en la provincia de Chubut”, dice una declaración aprobada hoy, sobre tablas, por iniciativa del PRO.
Previamente se presentaron otros textos de distinto tenor sobre el mismo tema, por parte de los bloques Frente para la Victoria, Frente de Izquierda y los Trabajadores y Autodeterminación y Libertad, pero ninguno pudo ser votado sobre tablas al no obtener los dos tercios requeridos por el reglamento para habilitar su debate.
Santiago Maldonado, oriundo de la ciudad bonaerense de 25 de Mayo pero residente en la localidad rionegrina de El Bolsón, había viajado hasta un campo del departamento Cushamen, en el noroeste de Chubut, al parecer para sumarse a las protestas de una comunidad mapuche que reclama tierras que reivindica como de su propiedad ancestral.
Según denunciaron su familia y agrupaciones de activistas políticos, el joven fue visto por última vez el martes 1 de agosto en un predio ocupado por pobladores, perteneciente al grupo Benetton, que fue desalojado por efectivos de Gendarmería. El caso es investigado por la Justicia Federal
Repudian atentado terrorista en Barcelona
La Legislatura porteña expresó su más enérgico repudio frente al atentado terrorista perpretrado en la ciudad de Barcelona acontecido el 17 de agosto último. El hecho dejó un saldo de al menos 13 fallecidos y más de un centenar de heridos de distintas nacionalidades. Más tarde, se produjo otro ataque en Cambrils, unos 120 km al sur de Barcelona, donde murió una mujer y hubo 7 heridos, uno de ellos es un policía. Los diputados Emilio Raposo Varela y Eduardo Santamarina (PRO) impulsaron el proyecto de declaración que se aprobó sobre tablas con la abstención de los monobloques de izquierda. En tanto, Confianza Pública a través de la diputada Graciela Ocaña y su par Diego García Vila presentó una iniciativa similar al aprobado.
Adhesión al Día del Árbol
El Consejo Nacional de Educación en 1900 instituyó el 29 de agosto como el “Día del Árbol”, por impulso de Estanislao Zeballos, uno de los más destacados intelectuales y políticos de la generación de 1880.
La declaración, aprobada hoy que adhiere a la celebración, por iniciativa de Carolina Estebarena y Emilio Raposo Varela (PRO) afirma que “los árboles en ciudades como la nuestra nos brindan servicios ecosistémicos invaluables, tales como la regulación de la temperatura a través de su sombra y su respiración, que humedece levemente el ambiente y nos entrega oxígeno, purificando el aire que lo rodea”.
Aniversario del Centro de Formación Profesional N°2
La Legislatura expresó su beneplácito por el 50° aniversario del Centro de Formación Profesional N° 2, que se convirtió en una de los primeras entidades de esta especialidad en el país. Ubicado en el Hospital Braulio Moyano, se destaca porque el 50% de sus estudiantes son pacientes que provienen del hospital y el otro 50 % son alumnos externos. Los cursos que allí se dictan son de marroquinería, corte, confección y moldería, peluquería, gastronomía y cerámica, informática, mosaiquismo y vitrofusión, entre otras. Los legisladores José Luis Acevedo y Diego Marías (PRO) impulsaron la iniciativa.
