Cinco monumentos de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires se iluminarán de verde el miércoles 21 de junio de 18 a 23.59 horas por el Día Mundial de la Lucha contra la Esclerosis Lateral Amiotrófica (ELA).
La iniciativa propuesta por la Fundación Esteban Bullrich busca visibilizar y concientizar sobre la necesidad de encontrar cuanto antes una cura a esta enfermedad y poder mejorar la calidad de vida de aquellos pacientes que padecen ELA. Para iluminar los monumentos se eligió el verde, color representativo de esta lucha.
La ELA afecta el sistema nervioso y es la tercera enfermedad degenerativa más frecuente tras la demencia y el Parkinson.
Suele darse entre personas adultas entre los 40 y 70 años y su complejidad en el diagnóstico radica en que la afección es un conjunto de síndromes que presenta síntomas similares a otras enfermedades.
Acerca de Fundación Esteban Bullrich
La Fundación busca promover la importancia de desarrollar investigaciones y concientizar sobre la ELA. Además, de colaborar en el financiamiento de investigaciones e innovación para el tratamiento y la cura de la Esclerosis Lateral Amiotrófica (ELA), y proporcionar apoyo a las familias y a aquellos que sufren esta enfermedad ayudándoles a acceder al apoyo médico, la investigación y las herramientas de diagnóstico.
La institución busca crear el primer centro interdisciplinario para la atención de pacientes con ELA de la Argentina, un espacio que brindará atención integral a los pacientes y que otorgará herramientas para un diagnóstico temprano.
