“Asumimos el compromiso de aumentar la presencia de armas Taser, que son de baja letalidad, y el subte es un lugar muy concurrido para implementar esta tecnología”, declaró el Jefe de Gobierno, Jorge Macri, quien recorrió la Línea H junto al Ministro de Seguridad, Waldo Wolff. Macri añadió: “El subte es un espacio cerrado, y si aparece un delincuente, es complicado para el policía utilizar un arma de fuego. La Taser nos permite actuar de manera efectiva y rápida, reduciendo al delincuente sin poner en peligro la vida ni del oficial ni de los vecinos que utilizan el subte”.
Las Taser son Dispositivos Electrónicos de Inmovilización Momentánea y evitan que los oficiales tengan que recurrir al uso de armas de fuego en espacios de alta afluencia. Este programa comenzará en las estaciones con mayor tráfico y en las cabeceras de cada línea, incrementándose de manera gradual hasta fin de año. Las Taser se utilizan en más de 107 países, incluidos Estados Unidos, Alemania, Italia, España, Francia, Reino Unido y Brasil.
