Se trata de un edificio de fines del Siglo XIX ubicado en Leandro N. Alem al 800, conocido como “cocheras presidenciales” porque albergaba los caballos y carruajes de la presidencia.
Un histórico edificio de nuestra comuna, más precisamente del barrio Retiro pronto comenzará a funcionar como un moderno mercado y paseo gastronómico gourmet, proclive a una alimentación saludable y sustentable.
El inmueble ubicado en Leandro N. Alem al 800 es conocido como “Cocheras Presidenciales”, es una construcción de dos pisos con una elegante fachada de ladrillos a la vista, arcadas y cúpula. Fue construido a finales del siglo XIX destinado para albergar las caballerizas y los carruajes de la presidencia. En la actualidad funciona como estacionamiento para automóviles de uso oficial.
El Gobierno de la Ciudad llamó a una licitación pública para conceder la concesión del inmueble a una empresa privada para convertirlo en un “mercado de puestos minoristas y feria”. El plazo es de cinco años y el canon base asciende a $ 145.000 mensuales.
A cargo de la licitación está la Dirección General de Administración de Bienes y Concesiones del Ministerio de Modernización, Innovación y Tecnología del Gobierno porteño. En el pliego argumenta que “la propuesta comercial, mediante la remodelación de un edificio representativo de la sociedad porteña, responde a las necesidades de modernización y recuperación urbana que caracterizan al entorno“.
Se trata de un edificio con una ubicación realmente privilegiada, a apenas metros de la Av. Córdoba, muy cerca de Puerto Madero y del complejo de torres de oficinas de Catalinas Norte. La zona cuenta con gran circulación de gente por la alta densidad de oficinas que hay en el lugar, sumado al turismo y la gente de paso. La apertura de los sobres será el próximo miércoles 18 de octubre.
Por tratarse de un edificio histórico, las reformas que se realicen no podrán cambiar el estado original de su fachada ni afectar los valores patrimoniales del lugar, entre los que se destacan paredes azulejadas y recubiertas en mayólicas, marcos de puertas de bronce, varios vitrales y una cúpula central.
