Hasta el próximo sábado 13 de mayo estará disponible una fantástica exposición denominada “Testigos del Rock”, en la Sala de Exposiciones Temporarias, Defensa 223 y Casa Altos de Elorriaga, Defensa 187 del Museo de la Ciudad, con entrada libre y gratuita de 11 a 18 horas, donde se podrán apreciar las fotografías de José Luis Perrotta que recorre la historia del Rock Nacional desde sus comienzos y gran parte del trabajo del fotógrafo.
José Luis Perotta falleció en marzo de 1989. Años después sus padres deciden entregar toda su producción fotográfica a la Fundación Antorchas, quienes revisan y contabilizan el archivo. Finalmente las originales 28 cajas de cartón pasan a formar parte de la Colección del Museo Ciudad. A finales del año 2015, el director del Museo, Lic. Ricardo Pinal Villanueva, encomienda la tarea de desempolvar la colección, organizar los archivos y dar comienzo a la tarea de investigación y digitalización de su trabajo.
En las fotografías de José Luis Perotta podemos ver la juventud de los que hoy son músicos emblema y aun perduran en el tiempo: los precursores de lo que más adelante se conoció como Rock Nacional. Las imágenes son un viaje al pasado. La mayoría de las fotografías que se presentan son inéditas y están ubicadas en las décadas del ‘70 y ’80. Son imágenes en blanco y negro y otras en color. Las tapas de los discos del Rock Nacional de la década del 70 que están en el inconsciente de casi 2 generaciones, son imágenes de Perotta. Además de tapas de vinilos, afiches de recitales y revistas como el Expreso Imaginario, Pelo, Pinap. Con pocos nombres podemos tomar dimensión de la producción; Los Gatos, Vox Dei, Pappo, Almendra, Facundo Cabral, Nito Mestre, Fito Páez, Los Abuelos de la Nada, Grupo G.I.T., Mercedes Sosa, Charly García, Luis Alberto Spinetta, entre otros tantos artistas.
Más tarde, ya en los años 80, podríamos decir que profesionaliza su tarea al dedicarse de lleno al trabajo publicitario, produciendo para las más prestigiosas agencias de publicidad de la época, entre las que se destaca: Gowland, Mc Caan, Magnun Publicitaria, Yuste, Shakespeare. También, produjo notas para medios como: revista Claudia, revista Gente, Vogue, Walter Thompson; y como reportero, se destaca el registro del regreso del General Perón, la cual luego fuera tapa de la revista gente del 72. Dando a conocer a importantes modelos de la época, se encuentran: Karina Rabolini, Anama Ferreira, Susana Romero, Raquel Mancini; y dentro de las personalidades del espectáculo y la cultura podemos ver retratos de Elena Fortabat, Andrea Frigerio, Andrea Bonelli, Renata Schusseim, Marta Minujin, Josefina Robirosa, entre otras. Un sinfín de personalidades y artistas que forman parte de una colección de denota el gran trabajo del fotógrafo José Luis Perotta
