Las obras de mejoramiento y refuncionalización del Parque Indoamericano ya se encuentran finalizadas. Estos trabajos se hicieron con el objetivo de mejorar la calidad de vida de los vecinos de los barrios circundantes y la de los usuarios del parque.
Plaza Barrial
Se propuso que los barrios existentes, Conjunto Habitacional “Sueños Compartidos” y barrio Los Piletones, accedan al espacio público, generando situaciones de encuentro y recreación con visuales directas al lago. Se incorporaron postas deportivas, patios de juegos y luminaria, además de planes de arbolado nativo y sistemas de riego.
Se creó un nuevo patio de juegos con un mangrullo, hamacas y toboganes. Además, se sumaron mesas de ping-pong y áreas de descanso.
Plazas de acceso
Este sector consta de dos plazas de bienvenida, tipo “atrio” que generan una conexión directa entre Asturias y la orilla del Lago Soldati, así como la vinculación con el recorrido de pasarelas.
La primera parte del acceso se materializó con caminos peatonales de hormigón peinado acompañados con canteros de vegetación que vinculan transversalmente Asturias y el lago. En la plaza de acceso hacia el conjunto habitacional, se desplegaron una serie de plataformas, también en hormigón armado que se desprenden del borde existente del lago. En ellas se instalaron postas deportivas, que permiten aprovechar el sitio como senda para ejercitarse.
