En la Legislatura de la Ciudad reunieron para presentar el proyecto de ley que asegurara la paridad política de género. Buscarían de este modo que el 50% de todos los cargos electivos estén ocupados por mujeres. Se llevó a cabo en el salón Montevideo de la Legislatura la difusión del proyecto de ley que promueve la paridad de género política, la reunión comenzó luego de que se hicieran presentes los legisladores Javier Gentilini (FR), Natalia Fidel (Suma +) y Roy Cortina (PS), acompañados por la funcionaria del partido de Tigre, Malena Galmarini así como también por las diputadas nacionales Carla Pitiot y Marcela Durrieu (con mandato cumplido). El proyecto de ley busca que en la ciudad el 50 % de las listas de cargos electivos esté integrado por mujeres, para alcanzar una representación que respete la proporción de las mujeres en la sociedad.
Asi entonces Gentilini dio comienzo a las exposiciones destacando la visibilidad de la injusticia de género que adquirió en los últimos tiempos con las marchas por “#ni una menos” y advirtió que “la desigualdad sigue, independientemente de la política”, por lo que procuró un cambio cultural que profundice lo que se vino haciendo en los últimos años, ya que en la ciudad está reglamentado un cupo del 35% de legisladoras.
En tanto que Fidel hizo hincapié en la necesidad “que las mujeres participen en condiciones reales de la política” y valorizó las leyes ya sancionadas, como la de cupo sindical femenino, contra la violencia de las mujeres o la de niños, niñas y adolescentes. Y destacó que con el proyecto de ley de paridad de género que presentan en la Legislatura “vamos a ir juntos a la par a discutirlo”
Cortina recordó “el impacto que tuvo” la ley 24 012 que estableció a nivel nacional electoral que “las listas que se presenten deberán tener mujeres en un mínimo del 30 % de los candidatos a los cargos a elegir y en proporciones con posibilidad de resultar electas.” Durrieu, que activó la sanción de esa ley en 1993, destacó que “mi mejor homenaje es a los varones que nos acompañan hoy”
Asi mismo Cortina expresó que la desigualdad de género es “la más antigua de la historia” y que se ha avanzado mucho en “los últimos 100 años de los 10 mil que lleva la humanidad”. Y honró con su palabra a argentinas que hicieron mucho por ello: Alicia Moreau de Justo, Eva Duarte y Florentina Gómez Miranda.
Concluyendo la reunion, el LegisladorGalmarini también agradeció a estas mujeres ya que entendió que “nosotras no estaríamos, si no fuera por ellas” y enalteció a “los hombres que se animan a discutir los estereotipos de cierta masculinidad”, ya que con el acompañamiento de ellos, podrá lograrse mayor equidad de género.
