El Ministerio de Cultura de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires invita a la inauguración de la exposición La paleta del Restaurador, dedicada a Juan Manuel de Rosas, que tendrá lugar el sábado 5 de octubre a las 12 en el Museo Histórico de Buenos Aires Cornelio de Saavedra (Crisólogo Larralde 6309).Actividad gratuita.
Esta exhibición forma parte del eje Color del programa anual Narrativas Cruzadas, un proyecto de la Dirección General de Patrimonio, Museos y Casco histórico mediante el cual se interrelacionan las distintas formas de entender las dinámicas artísticas que atraviesan las colecciones de los Museos de la Ciudad con las nuevas muestras y el público.
En tiempos de Juan Manuel de Rosas (1829-1832 y 1835-1852), el color rojo se extendió con su presencia y su fuerza simbólica por toda la Nación. “La paleta del Restaurador” muestra, por medio de diferentes objetos que integran la colección del Museo Histórico de Buenos Aires Cornelio de Saavedra, las formas que adquirió la propaganda política del rosismo tanto en el espacio privado como en el público. Esta muestra, que cuenta con la curaduría de María Lía Munilla Lacasa, se extenderá hasta el 1 de marzo de 2020.
“La exhibición La Paleta del Restaurador cuenta la historia argentina en el período del Gobernador Juan Manuel de Rosas, la imposición del rojo punzó -distintivo federal- y objetos con la inscripción ‘Federación o Muerte’, entre muchos del período. Podemos disfrutar y descubrir momentos decisivos en la formación del país a través de colores, objetos y relatos históricos”, señala Juan Vacas, Director General de Patrimonio, Museos y Casco Histórico de la Ciudad.
Cuando el decreto del 3 de febrero de 1832 dispuso el uso de la “divisa punzó” como norma, la ciudad comenzó a teñirse de rojo, color que identificaba a quienes adherían al gobierno de Rosas. No sólo los hombres estaban obligados a lucir la consigna “Federación o Muerte” en cintas rojas sobre sus pechos. También las mujeres debían exhibir su adscripción a la causa federal por medio de tocados de flores o moños rojos en sus peinados. Numerosos retratos al óleo de miembros encumbrados de la sociedad argentina dan cuenta de esta práctica. Otras prendas de uso personal también debieron sujetarse a la norma: chalecos, galeras, guantes, abanicos y peinetones se sumaron al concierto de soportes que vitorearon al Gobernador.
