Comenzó a desarrollarse en la Ciudad la Semana de la Movilidad Sustentable es una iniciativa que ha sido impulsada por grupos ciudadanos en diferentes partes del mundo, con el fin de promover el desarrollo de buenas prácticas para que el transporte sea lo más ecológico posible. En la Semana de la Movilidad Sustentable nos invita a cuidar nuestra casa común, llamada planeta tierra, y todos podemos contribuir de diferentes formas para que nuestras actividades sean más sostenibles y sustentables en el tiempo. Desde la organización a cargo del gobierno porteño invitan a que camines, pedalees o te subas al transporte público en Buenos Aires y conozcas todas las actividades que tenemos para vos desde el 16 al 22 de septiembre.
La Movilidad Sustentable y Segura promueve hábitos de movilidad y transporte más sostenibles, seguros y saludables, como pueden ser los desplazamientos a pie, en bicicleta, en transporte público o con cualquier vehículo que colabore en la reducción de la contaminación y en mejorar la calidad del aire que respiramos.
Esta iniciativa surgió en Europa en el año 1999 y a partir del año 2000 contó con el apoyo de la Comisión Europea.
La semana de la movilidad sustentable se realiza cada año del 16 al 22 de Septiembre, invitando a realizar actividades para promocionar y fomentar el desarrollo de buenas prácticas y medidas permanentes.
