Una mujer de 65 años, que se encontraba postrada y en un estado de abandono, fue rescatada por la Policía de la Ciudad después de haber sido encerrada durante un año por su esposo, un médico psiquiatra de 74 años, en Belgrano.
El rescate fue resultado de una denuncia telefónica que alertaba sobre la situación de la mujer, quien había vivido en un estado de encierro, abandono y maltrato por parte de su esposo durante el último año. La habitación donde estaba retenida se encontraba en una terraza, en condiciones de suciedad y desorden, y la mujer no podía moverse debido a una dolencia lumbar.
La Fiscalía en lo Penal, Contravencional y de Faltas 18, a cargo del Dr. Juan Cruz Ártico, intervino de inmediato junto al personal de la División Protección Familiar Área Este de la Policía de la Ciudad y el Cuerpo de Investigaciones Judiciales (CIJ) del Ministerio Público Fiscal.
Las investigaciones condujeron a un allanamiento en el domicilio denunciado, ubicado en Virrey Loreto al 2200, en el barrio de Belgrano. El esposo de la víctima permitió el acceso a los funcionarios policiales y del Ministerio Público a la vivienda del sexto piso donde residían. Solicitaron ver a la mujer, quien estaba encerrada en la habitación de la terraza.
El hombre proporcionó la llave para abrir la habitación, la cual estaba en condiciones deplorables, con olores desagradables y suciedad, y la mujer estaba en la cama, sin capacidad para moverse.
Una trabajadora social entrevistó a la mujer y elaboró un informe para su posterior evaluación por parte del SAME Psiquiátrico. Bomberos de la Ciudad también colaboraron para trasladarla debido a su limitada movilidad.
La víctima fue llevada al hospital Pirovano, donde quedó internada temporalmente a la espera de una decisión sobre su derivación a una institución de salud mental.
Por otro lado, el esposo fue detenido por abandono de persona, considerado como violencia de género por el fiscal, y por tenencia ilegítima de armas de fuego. Durante el allanamiento, se incautaron tres armas de fuego y varios medicamentos, algunos de los cuales eran suministrados a la mujer.
El esposo quedó bajo arresto domiciliario mientras se investigan los delitos mencionados.
Los especialistas están evaluando si la mujer recibió un diagnóstico y tratamiento adecuado para su dolencia.
En el operativo también participaron miembros del Área Oeste de la División de Protección Familiar de la Policía de la Ciudad, así como el Equipo de Intervención Domiciliaria de la Oficina de Asistencia a Víctimas y Testigos del Ministerio Público Fiscal y el Programa Proteger del Gobierno de la Ciudad, para brindar atención a la mujer.
