El último reporte epidemiológico sobre el dengue indica una ralentización en los contagios con la llegada de los primeros días de frío, pero los casos acumulados en Argentina siguen siendo alarmantes. Más de 420.000 casos de dengue se han registrado en lo que va del año 2024, con un brote concentrado principalmente en la región central del país. Además, la cifra de fallecidos relacionados con la enfermedad supera los 300.
Según el Boletín Epidemiológico Nacional (BEN) del Ministerio de Salud, en las primeras 17 semanas del año se han notificado 420.867 casos de dengue, lo que representa más del 96% de los contagios registrados en toda la temporada. La región Centro concentra la mayor cantidad de casos (62,2%), seguida por las regiones Noroeste (21,2%) y Noreste (14,3%). Las regiones Oeste y Sur presentan el menor número de casos, pero aún así contribuyen al 2,3% del total.
A pesar de la disminución en la propagación de la enfermedad, el dengue sigue siendo una preocupación en gran parte del país. La circulación viral autóctona se ha detectado en 19 de los 24 distritos, con un pico de casos reportado en la semana 12 del año. Desde ese punto álgido, los casos han disminuido en varias regiones, aunque con algunas variaciones.
En cuanto a los fallecimientos, se han registrado 301 muertes relacionadas con el dengue desde el inicio de la temporada. La mediana de edad de las personas fallecidas es de 49 años, con víctimas en 18 de las 24 jurisdicciones del país. Los síntomas más comunes entre los fallecidos incluyen fiebre, cefalea, mialgias, artralgias, náuseas, vómitos, diarrea y dolor abdominal.
El Ministerio de Salud ha instado a la población a reforzar las medidas preventivas contra el mosquito Aedes aegypti, transmisor del dengue. Esto incluye eliminar criaderos de mosquitos, utilizar repelente para evitar picaduras y buscar atención médica en caso de presentar síntomas de la enfermedad.
