El Gobierno porteño ha llevado a cabo más de 60.028 operativos de desratización a lo largo del año, interviniendo en la vía pública, espacios verdes y edificios gubernamentales. En total, durante 2024 ya se han realizado 94.135 intervenciones en diferentes sectores de la Ciudad, como parte del Plan Integral de Control de Plagas.
Los vecinos pueden solicitar servicios de higiene urbana a través de Boti (el WhatsApp de la Ciudad), la app miBA, el canal de Gestión Colaborativa o llamando al 147.
La Ciudad mantiene acciones constantes de desratización en espacios públicos, a cargo de equipos técnicos que monitorean de forma permanente los focos detectados. Aunque la presencia de roedores es un fenómeno estructural en las grandes ciudades del mundo, no se registran indicios de que la situación en Buenos Aires haya empeorado recientemente.
El problema de las plagas afecta a gran parte de las metrópolis del mundo, y Buenos Aires no escapa a esta realidad. Por eso, desde el Ministerio de Espacio Público e Higiene Urbana se implementa un Plan Integral de Control de Plagas, que abarca tanto calles y parques como dependencias públicas: bibliotecas, museos, teatros, cementerios, centros culturales y otros edificios de la administración porteña.
¿En qué consiste el plan?
El operativo se basa en acciones preventivas y correctivas de desratización dentro del perímetro urbano, con el fin de controlar o disminuir la población de roedores. Estas medidas se intensifican durante el verano, ya que los residuos orgánicos se descomponen más rápidamente con el calor, lo que incrementa la actividad de estos animales.
El procedimiento de desratización se estructura en tres etapas:
- Evaluación del sitio a intervenir.
- Aplicación de barreras preventivas para evitar el ingreso o anidamiento de plagas (cuando corresponde).
- Control químico mediante productos especializados.
Una vez realizada la intervención, y si la situación lo amerita, se procede también a una desinfección del área, con el objetivo de eliminar pulgas, moscas y otros organismos que puedan surgir como consecuencia de la descomposición de estos roedores.
Los trabajos se ejecutan todos los días del año, garantizando una presencia constante del servicio en los distintos espacios de la Ciudad.
Además, estas tareas se refuerzan durante la temporada estival, ya que las altas temperaturas favorecen la proliferación tanto de roedores como de insectos. Por esta razón, el Gobierno de la Ciudad recomienda a los vecinos sacar la basura entre las 19 y las 21 horas, de domingo a viernes, depositándola en bolsas cerradas dentro de los contenedores negros o grises más próximos. Esta acción ayuda a reducir la permanencia de residuos en la vía pública y, a su vez, a minimizar las condiciones que propician la presencia de plagas.
