El 24 de marzo no se toca. Detrás de esa consigna, organizaciones sociales, movimientos por los derechos humanos y referentes políticos hicieron escuchar sus voces al conocerse la decisión de Mauricio Macri de modificar el feriado por el Día Nacional de la Memoria por la Verdad y la Justicia.
La medida, oficializada a través de un Decreto de Necesidad y Urgencia durante la semana pasada, permitía también la movilidad del feriado del Día del Veterano y de los Caídos en la Guerra de Malvinas, que es conmemorado el 2 de abril. El feriado del 24 de marzo había sido declarado inamovible en el año 2006 durante el gobierno de Néstor Kirchner, mismo gobierno que fue el que impuso esa fecha como feriado nacional.
Organizaciones sociales, movimientos por los derechos humanos y referentes políticos hicieron escuchar sus voces al conocerse la decisión de Mauricio Macri de modificar el feriado por el Día Nacional de la Memoria por la Verdad y la Justicia.
Las fuertes críticas afectaron la decisión del presidente Macri, quien durante el fin de semana un nuevo decreto devolviendo la inmovilidad al feriado del 24 de marzo. El ministro de Justicia y Derechos Humanos, Germán Garavano, admitió que modificar el feriado fue “un error” y la vicepresidenta Gabriela Michetti afirmó que “se tenía que haber consensuado antes”. Sin embargo, esta decisión parece estar lejos de los “errores” a los que el gobierno de Cambiemos suele adjudicar la culpa de sus fallidas acciones.
No es la primera vez que el gobierno de Cambiemos da marcha atrás con sus decisiones: situaciones similares se dieron con los polémicos “tarifazos” y también con la designación de jueces de la Corte Suprema de Justicia por decreto, ocurridas también en época de vacaciones durante enero del 2016, a poco más de un mes de la asunción de Macri como presidente, quien había llegado bajo la promesa del “diálogo” y el “respeto a las instituciones”.

Algunos intendentes municipales como los de Almirante Brown, Lomas de Zamora, Mercedes y Escobar habían anunciado que decretarían un asueto para los empleados municipales para el día 24 de marzo en rechazo a la decisión del presidente. Estela de Carlotto también se había sumado a las críticas, calificando la medida de “un error político imperdonable”. Cristina Kirchner y Daniel Scioli, por su parte, habían utilizado las redes sociales para demostrar su repudio.
La memoria del pasado reciente de nuestro país no puede ni debe negociarse. Las fechas como el 24 de marzo y el 2 de abril no se reducen a excusas turísticas, sino que son necesarias para hacer visibles sus luchas y movilizaciones. Que la sociedad repudie estas medidas es una prueba de que le da a la memoria la importancia que merece. Hoy, continuamos afirmando que en la defensa de los derechos humanos no debemos dar ni un paso atrás.
