La Legislatura porteña aprobó una ley en primera lectura que establece la nueva denominación de la estación del subte ubicada en Balvanera.
Los diputados socialistas de la Legislatura de de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires Roy Cortina y Hernan Arce impulsaron un proyecto para homenajear a Alfredo Bravo en un espacio ubicado a pocos metros de la sede de la APDH que actualmente funciona en el edificio de la Av. Callao 569. Se trata de la Estación Callao de la Línea B de la Red de Subterráneos de Buenos Aires.
“Sin dudas, su nombre se ha convertido en un símbolo de la defensa de los derechos humanos en la Argentina”, aseguraron desde el Bloque Socialista en la Legislatura.
Alfredo Bravo fue uno de los fundadores y máximos referentes de la Asamblea Permanente de los Derechos Humanos (APDH), fundada en 1975, unos meses antes del golpe de Estado como espacio multisectorial que ha servicio a la confluencia de referentes políticos, intelectuales, sindicales y religiosos, en defensa de la vida y la dignidad de las personas.
Se desempeñaba como presidente de la entidad, al momento de su secuestro ocurrido el 8 de septiembre de 1977.
Un grupo de tareas lo sacó por la fuerza de la escuela donde estaba dando clases y lo llevó a un centro clandestino de detención donde fue brutalmente torturado y permaneció en condición de desaparecido alrededor de doce días.
La acción de la APDH, sus compañeros y familia, sumada al apoyo de personalidades y de la comunidad internacional, fueron determinantes de su traslado a un penal de La Plata, quedando detenido a disposición del Poder Ejecutivo Nacional hasta la recuperación de su libertad, en enero de 1979.
El primer gobierno democrático lo convocó para desempeñarse como Subsecretario de Actividad Profesional Docente del Ministerio de Educación, cargo que terminó abandonando como una forma de expresar su disidencia con la aprobación de las Leyes de Obediencia Debida y Punto Final que permitieron que, entre otros, quedara en libertad su torturador, Miguel Etchecolatz.
Entonces, el propio Alfredo Bravo daba cuenta de las razones de su decisión: “Mi renuncia nace de un principio ético que me nutre y me sostiene en la lucha por los derechos humanos”.
“Pocos dirigentes políticos en nuestro país han sido tan respetados como él y han logrado mantener con firmeza el valor de la honestidad y sus ideales, a lo largo del tiempo”, afirma la iniciativa en sus fundamentos.
Su amigo personal, el ex Presidente de la Nación Raúl Alfonsín, bien lo definió como “un luchador de garra, un gran amigo, un compañero permanente que siempre luchó por los derechos humanos, por el sueño del pueblo argentino“.
“Nuestro proyecto registra como antecedente el Expte. 621-D-2014 que perdió estado parlamentario. Sin embargo y atento la incansable búsqueda de la unidad que fue característica de la trayectoria pública de Alfredo Bravo, es que volvemos a insistir en su aprobación tan necesaria en un contexto de fragmentación y exacerbación de las diferencias como el que nos toca vivir”, concluyen los diputados en los fundamentos.
La iniciativa logró su primera aprobación, pero como se trata de un proyecto de planeamiento urbano requiere de un debate en audiencia pública y una nueva aceptación en el recinto.
