El pasado viernes marcó el regreso a la navegabilidad del Riachuelo con el primer viaje del catamarán que conecta Puerto Madero con La Boca. “Recuperar la navegabilidad es un atractivo adicional para esta zona de la Ciudad”, afirmó el Jefe de Gobierno, Jorge Macri.
Macri destacó la transformación del Riachuelo, señalando que ahora “ya no hay malos olores, lo cual era una constante en el pasado”. También mencionó el regreso gradual de la flora y fauna, incluyendo un islote natural frente al edificio de la Fundación PROA. “Es emocionante haber cumplido con este trabajo de saneamiento”, agregó.
Como parte de la Autoridad de Cuenca Matanza Riachuelo (ACUMAR), la Ciudad realiza tareas continuas en la recolección de residuos en el borde costero y el lecho del río, así como en la desinfección, desmalezamiento, y limpieza del espejo de agua.
Actualmente, cualquier embarcación puede acceder a la Boca del Riachuelo y llegar hasta el puente transbordador Nicolás Avellaneda. El paseo en catamarán, gestionado por la empresa de transporte fluvial Sturla, tiene una duración de 40 minutos, partiendo desde Puerto Madero (muelle de Cecilia Grierson 400, esquina Juana Manso, en Dársena Norte). Los precios son de $17,000 para extranjeros, $14,000 para residentes argentinos, y $6,000 para menores de entre 3 y 5 años. Durante el viaje, los visitantes recibirán información sobre el ecosistema y la historia de Buenos Aires.
Los trabajos de limpieza del Riachuelo, realizados por ACUMAR, el Ministerio de Espacio Público e Higiene Urbana, la Prefectura Naval y APRA, se efectúan diariamente, incluso fines de semana y feriados. Estos trabajos incluyen fumigación, desinfección, desmalezamiento y recolección diferenciada de residuos de manera sustentable.
Este nuevo servicio de paseo en catamarán forma parte del Proyecto Sur, un plan de turismo de la Ciudad que resalta la identidad de La Boca, la pasión por el fútbol, la historia de la inmigración y el tango. El proyecto también incluye el regreso de la actividad nocturna en Caminito con un nuevo ordenamiento del espacio público, la reorganización del transporte y el refuerzo de la seguridad.
Además, la Ciudad sigue avanzando en la recuperación de la costa del Río de la Plata. El Plan BA Costa, que abarca 110 hectáreas en la costanera norte, se suma al plan de recuperación de la costa sur. Recientemente se inauguró el Parque Costero, una nueva playa urbana que ofrece un paseo renovado frente al río.
