Las recientes experiencias educativas y la innovación constituyeron los pilares del trabajo de Jorge Macri en Lisboa. El Jefe de Gobierno de la Ciudad visitó un centro TUMO, donde se lleva a cabo un programa educativo extracurricular y gratuito que integra tecnología y creatividad. Asimismo, se reunió con una empresa que promueve el surgimiento de emprendedores y startups, y fue recibido por el alcalde, Carlos Moedas.
En Lisboa, el Jefe de Gobierno, Jorge Macri, exploró un centro TUMO, donde se desarrolla un innovador programa educativo que permite a los jóvenes diseñar su propio plan de estudios. Adicionalmente, visitó una compañía que apoya la creación de empresas emergentes y startups y fue recibido por el alcalde, Carlos Moedas.
“El Centro TUMO representa una iniciativa muy original de aprendizaje. Ofrece 14 especialidades para jóvenes de 12 a 18 años, permitiéndoles construir su aprendizaje fuera del horario escolar, definir su carrera e integrar el mundo de la tecnología y el arte en sus vidas”, afirmó el Jefe de Gobierno. TUMO es una experiencia de aprendizaje donde los jóvenes eligen lo que desean aprender. Las actividades se realizan de manera presencial y fuera del horario de clases: se enfoca en el autoaprendizaje, talleres y laboratorios avanzados. El primer Centro TUMO para Tecnologías Creativas fue fundado en Ereván, Armenia, en 2011, por el ingeniero armenio-estadounidense Sam Simonian y su esposa Sylvia, siendo una organización sin fines de lucro respaldada por la Fundación Educativa Simonian. Hay otros centros TUMO en Alemania, Francia, Estados Unidos y Portugal.
Jorge Macri también visitó Unicorn Factory Lisboa, donde se implementa una plataforma de programas que, desde la capital portuguesa, apoya a las empresas emergentes y en crecimiento en la creación de productos y negocios, planeando expandirse a través de Lisboa y centros de innovación como el Beato Innovation District.
Posteriormente, el Jefe de Gobierno conoció la startup Microharvest, que se especializa en la producción de proteínas más saludables mediante el uso de microorganismos de rápido crecimiento, facilitando así el acceso a alimentos nutritivos para un mayor número de personas.
