¡En febrero la Ciudad vuelve a latir al ritmo del Carnaval! Luego de dos ediciones especiales adaptadas al contexto pandémico, en 2023 el Carnaval Porteño vuelve a las calles con la participación de 34 corsos y la presentación en vivo de más de 100 agrupaciones murgueras. Durante todo el mes, la histórica fiesta popular nos volverá a encontrar en diferentes espacios públicos de la Ciudad para mantener viva una tradición que lleva la identidad de los barrios como bandera.
Los festejos tendrán lugar en 34 locaciones públicas de la Ciudad, elegidas en diálogo con la comunidad de Carnaval. ¡Conocé los detalles!

Sobre la historia del Carnaval
Nuestra relación con el Carnaval se remonta al siglo XVIII. Ya desde ese entonces el pueblo entero se encontraba en calles y en plazas para celebrar la gran fiesta popular. Las fachadas de las casas se adornaban con guirnaldas, banderines y luces que hacían brillar la Ciudad, febrero a febrero. Además, el Carnaval fue la cuna que impulsó el desarrollo de otras artes y expresiones tradicionales: fue en los bailes de Carnaval de principios del siglo XX donde se ensayaron los primeros pasos de tango.
El Carnaval es un símbolo de nuestra cultura. Además, la comunidad murguera cumple una función social muy importante en nuestros barrios durante todo el año, forjando lazos comunitarios mediante distintas propuestas recreativas como ensayos, talleres y funciones, entre otras.
