En otros países del mundo se los venera y respeta, inclusive en culturas orientales son permanentes fuentes de consulta, en nuestro territorio son los Olvidados, los que ya cumplieron, los que no sirven. También existe el bullying hacia este sector, un sector cuantitativo y cualitativo, que forma parte de nuestra sociedad y de cualquier sociedad democrática mundial. Pese a los esfuerzos desde algunas autoridades mas sensibles, a través de Postas Digitales, Plazas activas, la posibilidad de participar de espectáculos, cursos y talleres a bajo precio ó de manera libre y gratuita, los datos que aportan las encuestas recientes llevadas a cabo por el Observatorio de la Deuda Social Argentina son para prestar atención y reflexionar. En las mismas fueron entrevistados seis mil mayores de sesenta años, de los cuales, cinco de cada diez, manifestaron que sienten que no son apreciados por su experiencia, opiniones, ó conocimientos… Mientras tanto, dos de cada diez, manifiesta que la familia no les permite participar en la toma de decisiones personales, familiares ó relacionadas con la salud. Mientras tres de cada diez adultos mayores, manifiestan no recibir la comprensión emocional y afectiva que necesitan. Por su parte, uno de cada tres, reconoce que nivel de recreación y esparcimiento no alcanza a cubrir sus aspiraciones. Asi pues vemos en los datos que arroja el estudio realizado, sólo uno de diez, participa en centros de jubilados, clubs sociales y deportivos. Del total de los encuestados, pudo saberse que, el 20 por ciento de las personas mayores viven solas, un 30 por ciento lo hace en hogares junto a otros mayores, y alrededor del 50 por ciento, convive con menores de 60 años. “La Tercera en la Calle”, es una programa del Gobierno de la Ciudad para acercar a nuestros mayores a talleres de arte, lectura, canto, ajedrez, ejercicios para entrenar neuronas, caminatas, entre otras actividades.
