Este sábado 3 de junio a las 11 horas se colocará una baldosa en homenaje al poeta Roberto Santoro a 40 años de su desaparición. El acto tendrá lugar en la vereda de Fraga 568, en el barrio de Chacarita, donde fuera su casa.
Roberto Santoro nació el 17 de abril de 1939, fue detenido desaparecido el 1º de junio de 1977. Tuvo varios oficios para poder subsistir fue pintor, vendedor ambulante, puestero en un mercado, tipógrafo y preceptor en una escuela industrial. Fundó y dirigió “El Barrilete”, revista literaria donde por primera vez se dio lugar a los poetas del tango como Carlos de la Púa, Celedonio Flores, Homero Manzi. En sus páginas escribieron Martín Campos, Carlos Patiño, Alberto Costa y Rafael Vásquez entre otros. Otras publicaciones en las que colaboró fueron “La Cosa”, “Gente de Buenos Aires”, “Papeles de Buenos Aires”, “La Pluma” y “La Palabra”.
Santoro asumió siempre una actitud política militante. De ideas guevaristas, en la década del ‘60 se integró al Partido Revolucionario de los Trabajadores (PRT). La intencionalidad político social es una constante en sus obras.
Uno de los trabajos más destacados de Roberto Santoro es el que realizó para compilar los textos que forman parte de “Literatura de la pelota”, obra en donde reproduce poemas y escritos de destacados intelectuales argentinos acerca de la pasión por el fútbol.
Roberto Jorge Santoro fue secuestrado por el terrorismo de estado el 1º de junio de 1977, se lo llevaron ilegalmente de su lugar de trabajo, la Escuela Nacional de Educación Técnica Nº 25 “Teniente Primero de Artillería Fray Luis Beltrán”, ubicada en la calle Saavedra en el barrio de Balvanera, donde el poeta era preceptor con el cargo de subjefe.
