El jefe de Gabinete porteño, presentó hoy el Sistema de Alerta de Tormentas, una nueva tecnología que permite recopilar información en tiempo real de una forma eficiente y certera.
“Gracias a este sistema vamos a anticiparnos con mayor tiempo y precisión frente a los distintos fenómenos climáticos que se presenten”, expresó Miguel.
El nuevo sistema, compuesto por el Centro Único de Coordinación y Control, 34 estaciones meteorológicas, un satélite GOES-R y un radar, también va a monitorear el estado de las cuencas de la Ciudad y del Río de la Plata.
Además, el Jefe de Gabinete porteño indicó que “servirá para alertar con más anticipación al SAME, a los Bomberos, a Defensa Civil y a la Policía”, y agregó: “También contribuirá a que le comuniquemos a los vecinos cuándo sacar la basura y cuándo no, por ejemplo”.
“Sabemos que el cambio climático está entre nosotros”, sostuvo.
El Centro Único de Coordinación y Control integra el nodo de gestión de emergencias donde trabajan de forma coordinada Defensa Civil, la Guardia de Auxilio y Emergencias, Bomberos, Policía de la Ciudad, SAME, la Dirección del Cuerpo de Agentes de Control de Tránsito y Transporte y la línea 108 de Asistencia Social Inmediata. Estos organismos reciben la alertas para que puedan adelantar estrategias, optimizar sus recursos y ofrecer una respuesta rápida y eficaz ante posibles situaciones de emergencias.
Las 34 estaciones meteorológicas e hidráulicas están distribuidas en la Ciudad y el Gran Buenos Aires, equipadas con sensores y cámaras que toman datos climáticos en tiempo real: viento, presión, humedad, precipitaciones, temperatura, radiación solar, rayos UV, temperatura del suelo. Todas cuentan con paneles solares y baterías que le dan autonomía ante posibles cortes de energía.
En tanto, el Satélite GOES-R fue lanzado al espacio por los Estados Unidos para realizar un mapeo de tormentas, tornados y huracanes en tiempo real. De este modo, envía los datos a todas las redes del sistema.
En lo que respecta al radar Klayton Doppler Banda S Doble, único en su tipo en el país, está especialmente diseñado para predecir sucesos meteorológicos severos. A través de él se pueden analizar tormentas, sudestadas y posibles frentes de precipitaciones fuertes. Tiene 20 metros de alto, una visión de 360 grados con un alcance de hasta 240 kilómetros y permite predecir fenómenos climatológicos con hasta 120 minutos de anticipación.Su ubicación, en el partido bonaerense de Merlo, le permite detectar las posibles tormentas con sentido noroeste-sur, que son las que más afectan a la Ciudad de Buenos Aires.
El Sistema de Alerta de Tormentas, desarrollado por el Gobierno de la Ciudad a través del Ministerio de Desarrollo Urbano y Transporte, forma parte del Plan Hidráulico para mitigar el riesgo de inundaciones en Buenos Aires.
El Plan Hidráulico, financiado por el Banco Mundial, ya lleva realizadas las obras del arroyo Maldonado, las Estaciones de Bombeo en La Boca-Barracas y el Segundo Emisario del Arroyo Vega, entre las más importantes.
