El delincuente fue denunciado por un empleado de Metrovías luego que observara como le sustraía pertenencias a una joven. Fue detenido en la estación 9 de Julio. La Policía de la Ciudad detuvo en la estación 9 de Julio de la Línea D del servicio Subterráneo a un delincuente que le había robado la billetera y el celular del bolso a una pasajera. Un empleado de Metrovías observó el hecho y siguió al punga a bordo de una formación para luego dar aviso a la policía. Intervino personal de la División Subte C, D, E, H y Premetro que fue alertado por un empleado de mantenimiento de la empresa concesionaria, quien observó como en la estación Pueyrredón de la Línea D, un sujeto le sustraía pertenencias a una joven para luego subir a una formación en sentido Catedral. Al llegar al andén de la estación 9 de Julio, el testigo informó a los oficiales del hecho, dándoles la descripción física del ladrón, quien fue finalmente demorado cuando intentaba escapar por una de las escaleras mecánicas, siendo requisado e identificado frente a testigos. Como resultado de las actuaciones policiales fueron encontradas entre las prendas del delincuente una billetera con documentación de la mujer y el teléfono celular, siendo los elementos secuestrados, devueltos posteriormente a su propietaria. Una vez realizadas las consultas pertinentes al Juzgado Nacional en lo Criminal y Correccional Nº 43 a cargo del Dr. García de la Torre, se dispuso el traslado del detenido hasta la Alcaidía de la Comisaría Vecinal 1 D de la Policía de la Ciudad.
