La Ciudad ofrece diferentes tipos de trámites según las circunstancias, ya sea la obtención inicial, la reimpresión motivada por la pandemia, la renovación o la ampliación de la licencia cuando se desea conducir dos tipos de vehículos. Cada gestión tiene un tratamiento específico.
Mantener la licencia de conducir al día es crucial para circular legalmente y con seguridad en la Ciudad. La Dirección General de Habilitación de Conductores brinda diversos trámites según las necesidades de cada conductor, desde el otorgamiento inicial hasta la renovación, reimpresión o ampliación de categorías. A través de un sencillo intercambio con BOTI, el chatbot de la Ciudad, los vecinos pueden verificar el estado de su licencia.
“Lo primero que debe recordar todo conductor es que no puede manejar sin tener su licencia vigente”, destacó César Torres, secretario de Gobierno y Vínculo Ciudadano. Y agregó: “La Ciudad trabaja para facilitar los trámites relacionados con la licencia, garantizando que todos los conductores puedan mantener sus documentos en regla y circular de manera segura”.
El primer paso que cualquier vecino con licencia próxima a vencer debe realizar es consultar a través de su teléfono móvil a BOTI. Para ello, debe agendar el número 11.5050.0147 en su celular, abrir WhatsApp y escribir “licencia de conducir”. Tras introducir sus datos personales, el asistente virtual lo guiará en la consulta e indicará el trámite correspondiente.
Dependiendo del caso, las personas deberán optar por el otorgamiento inicial, la reimpresión (debido a la pandemia), la renovación o la ampliación cuando se desea manejar dos tipos de vehículos, como automóviles y motos. Cada gestión cuenta con un procedimiento específico.
Tipos de trámites disponibles
- Otorgamiento: Para quienes solicitan su licencia de conducir por primera vez o necesitan tramitarla nuevamente porque la suya venció hace más de un año, el proceso incluye una evaluación teórica, un examen psicofísico y la prueba de manejo. Es indispensable aprobar todas las evaluaciones para obtener la licencia.
- Reimpresión debido a la pandemia: A raíz de la pandemia, muchos conductores enfrentaron dificultades para renovar sus licencias a tiempo. La Ciudad implementó entonces un trámite de reimpresión para aquellos cuya licencia venció durante este período, facilitando el proceso para que puedan seguir circulando sin problemas. Si la persona obtuvo su licencia antes del 17 de marzo de 2020 y su fecha de vencimiento está entre el 1 de enero de 2022 y el 14 de febrero de 2025, la reimpresión es obligatoria. Se puede realizar a partir de los tres meses previos y hasta un año después de la fecha de vencimiento. Si no se gestiona dentro de ese plazo, se deberá solicitar un otorgamiento, lo cual implica realizar el examen teórico, práctico y psicofísico.
- Renovación: La renovación de la licencia de conducir es un trámite que debe realizarse periódicamente, según el tipo de licencia y la edad del conductor. Este proceso también incluye la evaluación psicofísica y la realización de un curso online. Una vez vencida, la licencia se puede renovar antes de que haya transcurrido un año desde la fecha de vencimiento. El trámite de renovación excluye la necesidad de realizar un nuevo examen teórico y práctico.
- Ampliación de la licencia: Para los conductores que desean manejar más de un tipo de vehículo, es posible solicitar la ampliación de la licencia. Este trámite requiere realizar exámenes adicionales específicos para cada categoría de vehículo que se desee añadir.
