El operativo fue realizado en conjunto por el Departamento Delitos Contra la Propiedad, División Sustracción de Automotores, la Subsecretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana, bajo el Programa de Lucha contra la Comercialización de Autopartes Ilegales, y la Agencia Gubernamental de Control (AGC).

Los efectivos procedieron a realizaron una inspección sobre una gomería ubicada en la avenida Nazca al 2600 y se identificó al responsable del local, un hombre de 32 años. Se constató que en la parte posterior del comercio, se ocultaban neumáticos usados carentes de respaldo legal.

Por medio de ciertas averiguaciones, se comprobó que las cubiertas y llantas fueron obtenidas en el mercado ilegal, tras ser sustraídas de vehículos estacionados en la vía pública, en el ámbito de la Comuna 11 y alrededores.

En total, se hallaron 538 cubiertas y 176 llantas ilícitas, la mayoría pertenecientes a camionetas 4×4, vehículos de alta gama y camiones.

Realizada la consulta con la Fiscalía Penal, Contravencional y de Faltas número 20, a cargo del doctor Juan Rosas, se dispuso imputar al responsable del comercio por infracción a la Ley de Desarmaderos (25.761), clausurar la gomería y secuestrar todo el material ilícito y trasladarlo al Depósito Judicial ubicado en la calle Ferré al 2800.
