Las autoridades emitieron el Alerta SOFIA que es un protocolo para la busqueda de menores que pueden encontrarse en peligro inminente, se llama así por Sofia Herrera desaparecida en un camping en Tierra del Fuego.
Familiares, amigos y vecinos de Maia cortaron Dellepiane para pedir ya su aparición con vida, después de las 16 hs el corte fue total a la altura de Escalada.
Ya pasaron 30 horas sin noticias de Maia, se hicieron ratstrillajes en la Zabaleta, el Barrio 15, la Villa 20 y alrededores sin novedades.
Los vecinos con los que pudimos hablar dicen no haber visto antes al sospechoso en el barrio, apareció de un momento a otro, se gano la confianza de Estelita, como conocen a la mamá de Maia en el barrio y le llevaba regalos a la nena, algo que llamó la atención de los investigadores por su condición de indigencia. La pareja de Estela nos contaba que están muy tristes y que el había echado a Carlos varias veces, pero volvía. El le dijo a su pareja que había algo raro, que una persona grande y desconocida no debía estar solo con la nena.
El hombre que secuestró a la nena tenia una remera negra, zapatillas blancas y pantalón negro. Maia, Sandalias rosas, remera blanca musculosa y short rosa.
