En el marco del fortalecimiento del sistema de salud pública, la Ciudad de Buenos Aires continúa invirtiendo en infraestructura hospitalaria, con un presupuesto que supera los $76 mil millones para este año. En esta línea, el Hospital Durand, ubicado en el barrio de Caballito, sumó recientemente una nueva sala de diálisis y un resonador magnético de alta tecnología, destinados tanto a estudios de rutina como a diagnósticos de alta complejidad.

Anteriormente, el área de diálisis funcionaba en el octavo piso del hospital, lo que complicaba el acceso y el traslado de pacientes internados. Ahora, el nuevo sector se encuentra en el primer piso del Centro Médico Complementario. El espacio cuenta con 12 sillones para hemodiálisis y cuatro puestos para diálisis peritoneal, lo que representa un incremento del 50% en la capacidad de atención. A partir del lunes 4, el servicio podrá recibir a 70 pacientes diarios distribuidos en tres turnos: mañana, media tarde y noche.

“La salud es una prioridad. Trabajamos para brindar atención médica de calidad en todos los barrios, incorporando tecnología de vanguardia, nuevos consultorios, salas y guardias”, destacó el jefe de Gobierno porteño, Jorge Macri, acompañado por el ministro de Salud, Fernán Quirós.

Por otra parte, se instaló un resonador magnético de última generación, apto para realizar estudios a niños y adultos. El equipo funcionará de manera ininterrumpida, las 24 horas, todos los días del año.

Durante 2024, la Ciudad llevó adelante 90 obras en hospitales públicos. A estas se sumaron otras 35 intervenciones centradas en la ampliación de guardias, modernización de quirófanos y terapias intensivas, creación de nuevos Centros de Salud y Acción Comunitaria (CeSAC) y Centros de Especialidades Médicas Ambulatorias de Referencia (CEMAR), así como la incorporación de equipamiento de alta complejidad. Entre los hitos alcanzados se destaca la primera cirugía fetal realizada en una maternidad pública porteña.

En ese marco, el Hospital Piñero incorporó una nueva guardia general, 69 consultorios externos y una guardia especializada en salud mental. En el Hospital Rivadavia se habilitó una sala de internación para pacientes de salud mental, mientras que en el Pirovano se amplió la guardia, lo que permitirá mejorar la atención a más de 100 mil pacientes y realizar cerca de 2.500 cirugías al año. Además, se sumaron consultorios en cinco CeSACs (Nº 36, 1, 41, 40 y 12) y se inauguraron dos nuevos centros: el CeSAC Nº 50 en Villa Devoto y el Nº 42 en Boedo.

“El Hospital Durand continúa consolidándose como un nodo clave dentro de nuestra red de salud pública”, explicó el ministro Quirós. Y agregó: “El nuevo sector de diálisis mejora notablemente el acceso y la calidad de atención, con más puestos, mayor superficie y un entorno más confortable. Por su parte, el resonador de última generación optimiza los tiempos de diagnóstico y ofrece imágenes de mayor precisión”.

Durante este año, el Hospital Durand otorgó más de 277 mil turnos y realizó 2.577 cirugías. A nivel general, en 2024 los hospitales públicos de la Ciudad atendieron a más de 100 mil personas por día, lo que representa un incremento del 20% en relación con 2023. Además, se realizaron 12 mil cirugías programadas más que el año anterior, lo que equivale a un aumento del 30%.
