Horacio Rodríguez Larreta asistió a la tercera edición de la Fiesta de la Empanada, que se realizó este sábado en Diagonal Norte entre Carlos Pellegrini y Florida, con 30 puestos gastronómicos y música en vivo. “Es un honor recibir a los mejores cocineros del país y que nos muestren los secretos de una comida tan típica de los argentinos. Que refleja nuestra identidad regional y federal”, dijo el Jefe de Gobierno porteño, quien estuvo acompañado por el ministro de Desarrollo Económico y Producción, José Luis Giusti, y por el subsecretario de Políticas Gastronómicas, Héctor Gatto,

Con representación federal, cocineros y cocineras de las 23 provincias y de Buenos Aires compitieron por la mejor empanada del país. El ganador fue Catamarca.

Para la elección de los 24 participantes se realizó una convocatoria abierta en donde personas con experiencia profesional se anotaron para formar parte de este evento. La selección estuvo a cargo de Pietro Sorba, periodista y crítico gastronómico, y APYCE, la Asociación de Pizzerías y Casas de Empanadas.

“La gastronomía genera trabajo y contribuye al desarrollo de todas las provincias. Vamos a seguir acompañando al sector gastronómico y a los productores de alimentos con iniciativas como esta, para que puedan crecer todavía más”, afirmó Rodríguez Larreta.

Un jurado de expertos en empanadas evaluó la elaboración de la masa, la preparación del relleno, el repulgue y la cocción en los dos tipos de empanadas que presentaron los concursantes: tradicional y vegetariana. También hay que realizar un desafío sorpresa.

Integran el jurado: Narda Lepes, Pietro Sorba, José Luis Padilla de APYCE, María del Carmen “Chacha” Vicario, Juan Carlos Reynoso, Asunción Arguello y una dupla de vecinos de Tierra del Fuego de la convocatoria federal realizada por BA Participación Ciudadana.

“Con la Fiesta de la Empanada, queremos que los vecinos y turistas se acerquen a probar las diferentes variedades de este plato tan tradicional e identitario de la mesa de los argentinos. La gastronomía es uno de los sectores más importantes de la Ciudad, y de un país que es de los principales productores de alimentos. Genera nuevas inversiones y oportunidades de empleo; potencia la actividad económica de los comercios, y también brinda espacios para pasarlo bien en familia y con amigos”, explicó José Luis Giusti, ministro de Desarrollo Económico y Producción.

Gatto, en tanto, planteó: “Este evento y todas las iniciativas que llevamos adelante desde BA Capital Gastronómica buscan mostrar la variedad y potencialidad gastronómica que tiene la Argentina”.

El Ministerio de Cultura de la Ciudad programó shows musicales que tuvieron al folklore como gran protagonista. Participan la banda Los Tabaleros, la flautista Laura Molinas, el grupo de percusión Banda Cafundó y el rapero Under MC. El cierre de la jornada fue de la mano del cantautor Jorge Rojas.

Hay un espacio para chicos, quienes disfrutaron de una plaza inflable.

BA Gastronómica es un programa de la Subsecretaría de Políticas Gastronómicas, dentro del Ministerio de Desarrollo Económico y Producción, que busca posicionar a Buenos Aires como capital gastronómica de América Latina. Su objetivo es potenciar la actividad económica a través del desarrollo gastronómico porteño desde la generación de empleo y la promoción turística.
