El jefe de Gabinete porteño y el ministro de Desarrollo Urbano y Transporte, participaron hoy de la conexión final de los túneles del Arroyo Vega, que ahora soporta hasta 81 milímetros de lluvia fuerte constante a lo largo de dos horas, lo que beneficia a 315.000 vecinos de la Ciudad.
“Estas obras que no se ven a veces son las más importantes”, expresó Miguel.
El segundo emisario del túnel, que se extiende a lo largo de 8,4 kilómetros desde el cruce de las calles Nueva York y Helguera hasta desembocar en el Río de La Plata, duplicó la capacidad de drenaje (antes soportaba hasta 48 milímetros) y minimizó el riesgo de inundaciones en las comunas 12, 13 y 15.
Además, el Jefe de Gabinete porteño indicó que este trabajo “es importante para el crecimiento de la Ciudad y para afrontar el desafío del cambio climático”.
“Estamos convencidos de que el tiempo que llevó la obra valió la pena, porque esto es producto de la planificación y del pensamiento a largo plazo”, sostuvo.
En esa línea, Miguel agradeció “a todos los trabajadores y trabajadoras que hicieron que este proyecto se hiciera realidad”, y también a “los vecinos y a los comerciantes por la paciencia”.
En tanto, Moccia apuntó: “En este lugar donde estamos hoy (avenida Elcano y avenida Crámer), cuando llovía había hasta un metro de agua”.
“Ahora debajo nuestro hay casi 14 metros de una gran cámara que va a permitir que los sumideros vayan al nuevo arroyo que está debajo de la calle La Pampa. En la primera quincena de octubre los sumideros antiguos de esta zona en vez de ir al arroyo viejo de la calle Blanco Encalada van a ir al de La Pampa”, explicó el ministro de Desarrollo Urbano y Transporte porteño.
Por último, Moccia destacó que la obra del Arroyo Vega “finalizó en las fechas que se habían prometido”, y remarcó: “Estamos convencidos de que los vecinos valoran estas iniciativas cuando saben que trabajamos para mejorarles la vida”.
La capacidad de captación del emisario era insuficiente, por lo que la infraestructura existente no alcanzaba para contener los niveles de agua en los barrios de las comunas 12, 13 y 15. Ante esto, se trabajó para aumentar la capacidad del arroyo a través de este segundo emisario.
