El descubrimiento lo hizo personal de la Brigada de la Comisaría Comunal 4 de la Policía de la Ciudad, en una serie de allanamientos ordenados por el Juzgado Criminal y Correccional 34, a cargo del doctor Santiago Poncio y ante la Secretaría 114, en el marco de una causa por homicidio agravado por uso de arma de fuego, ocurrido el 19 de mayo dentro del asentamiento.

El asesinato se habría producido por una pelea por la conexión de cable y los procedimientos fueron para dar con quienes manejarían la distribución e instalación supuestamente ilegal del tendido del barrio.

Con los datos recogido por los policías, el Juzgado interventor dispuso de cuatro allanamientos, tres en la manzana 7, donde, si buen no estaban los imputados, por fotos quedó en claro que se trataba de sus domicilios. 

El cuarto procedimiento, en la Manzana 1, es donde se descubrió el centro de acopio de droga y municiones que manejaba la misma banda de los involucrados en el homicidio.

Allí, se halló en un pasillo 54,022 kilogramos de marihuana en ladrillos y bolsas, y 1,648 de cocaína, embalados de la misma forma.

También fueron encontradas en bolsas, más de un centenar de municiones para distintos tipos armas de fuego. Es que los policías incautaron 40 municiones de claibre 40, 18 de calibre 38 y 60 de 9 milímetros.

Los oficiales encontraron, además, balanzas de precisión y elementos de corte y fraccionamiento.

El magistrado dispuso el secuestro de las armas y ante el hallazgo de drogas derivó la consulta con el Juzgado Federal en turno, a cargo de la doctora María Eugenia Capuchetti, quien avaló lo actuado.
